ANOTHER RECORD BREAKING YEAR
Membership reaches 208
and climbing
The Association is happy to
announce that membership records have been broken again. No sooner
had he blown the final whistle of an enthralling encounter between
Totternhoe and Berkhamsted last Saturday than Treasurer/Membership
Secretary Bill Hamilton signed up his two young assistants, Sam
Brown and Luke Dadley from Bedford. This took the membership total
to 208, thus breaking last year’s all-time record.

Bill is naturally delighted at
the incredible response of so many referees who include a number who
are now officiating at Contributory and Football League level but
have never forgotten their roots and have many happy memories of
officiating in the Spartan South Midlands League.
Yet despite such encouraging
news, there are still over 70 officials who for one reason or
another (surely, it can’t be penury with a fee of just £6 a year!)
have not yet put their name on the dotted line. Come on, we all love
you so if your name is missing from the list on the Members page,
don’t delay, sign up today.
Look forward to seeing you all
on Thursday (28th January) at Crawley Green Sports and
Social Club in Luton when we are honoured to have former FIFA and
Premier League referee, Steve Dunn as our special guest. If he can
drive all the way from Bristol to be with us then hopefully you can
enjoy a shorter hop for what promises to be a memorable evening.
