COUZENS FAMILY SAY THANK YOU
FOR YOUR GENEROSITY
Donations heading for £2000 mark
The family of Carl Couzens have
expressed their sincere thanks to all those who have sent donations
in his memory to help vital research into asthma, the condition that
he fought so valiantly before his sudden and tragic death.
Spartan South Midlands referees
have long been known for their generosity and I am delighted to tell
you that the total of the donations sent so far has now reached over
£1800 with promises of more on the way. Apart from contributions
from Association members, many of Carl’s work colleagues, badminton
players/umpires and fellow golfers have dug deep into their pockets
in the hope of helping advance research in this most important
medical field.
Carl’s father, Ian says he would
like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers at this
difficult time, support which he says has helped the family through
some very dark days.
Describing the remarkable
turnout at his son’s funeral, Ian Couzens says:
“Carl was a fine man and it’s
blatantly obvious that a large number of others thought the same. We
were very proud to have brought up such a well liked and respected
person.”
The fund has not yet closed, so
if there is anyone who would still like to contribute to this very
noble cause, please send your cheque payable to

The Association’s Management
Committee will be meeting in the next few days to decide how best we
can perpetuate Carl’s memory. Already, we have received one or two
ideas from members. Meantime, please see elsewhere on this site for
details of a
special annual golf day.
