WELL, YOU DON'T SEE THAT EVERYDAY
SSMFL club goes above
and beyond to help out Assistant Referee

Now here's a story that you don't hear of too often.
On his way to act as
assistant referee at Mursley United v New Bradwell St Peter,
John McGroary telephoned the club to say he had got a puncture
in his tyre at Stukely, which is about 10 miles from the ground.
He said he did not think he would be able to get to the ground
in time for kick off.
Cue
two kind souls at
Mursley who drove the 10 miles to get him and bring him back to
the club. But the kind act didn't end there. After dropping him
off at the ground, they took his keys and returned to the car,
changing the tyre and driving it back to the ground.
John McGroary was then
able to drive home.
Are
there many clubs out there that would do something like that? We
don't think so.
The Association would like to express its thanks to Mursley
United for showing great kindness in helping out one of our
members.
