MEMBERS
As Membership Secretary and Treasurer of
the ASSMFLMO, I have been striving with the rest of the committee to build
an Association of which we can all be proud. From its humble beginnings 23
years ago, membership has soared from 75 to last year’s record total of 207.
It is now recognized as one of the most successful associations of its kind
in the country.
We believe that every member – from the
most experienced to the newest Level 7 – should have an equal say. Here you
will find no cliques, rather a comradeship that spans across the years and
encourages the young and enthusiastic from whom football will draw its top
referees of the future.
There are two types of membership. For
just £30, you will be enrolled for the next three years and also become the
owner of an exclusive Association portfolio which will be the envy of many
of your refereeing colleagues. Take a look at it here on the website and
then sign up quickly as this is a LIMITED OFFER.
One year membership is also available for
just £6 and new referees to the League will, I’m sure, want to purchase a
League tie and a League badge to ensure you look smart on match days.
The membership total for the new season to
date stands at 212.
So what do you get for your money? Well,
this website for a start where you can catch up with all the latest League
and Association news as well as a wealth of information about clubs and
their contact details. The site is updated frequently by our Webmaster Jake
Hillier, a very active member who has just been promoted to Level 3 and will
be refereeing on the Contributory Leagues this season. Jake is devoting a
huge amount of time to making the site attractive, newsworthy and user
friendly. So please make use of this excellent facility. And don’t miss the
Bill Scholes newsletter which is updated every week throughout the season.
The Association holds three meetings
during the season attended by keynote speakers and League officials. Here
you can have any issues or concerns addressed. We also award trophies to
clubs whose sportsmanship and hospitality help make refereeing a more
satisfying experience. And we have our own Oscars which are awarded to those
referees who are deemed to have excelled both on and off the pitch.
The Referees’ Appointments Secretary, Mick
Ewen, is a staunch supporter of the Association and urges everyone to join.
So if you haven’t already done so, DON’T DELAY, SIGN UP TODAY!
