Plans to introduce point-to-point SPECS system around the M25 and other motorways

Plans are in place for the introduction of point-to-point speed cameras along major motorways in the near future. Anyone who drove through the works during the M1 widening and those currently in place on sections of the M25 will have noticed the yellow SPECS cameras above the road on gantries.

The Department for Transport plans to place SPECS cameras at all entry and exit points of the M25 and M11. This will mean that travelling at an average speed of 70MPH between entering and exiting the motorway will result in a Fixed Penalty Notice.

Please be ware of these cameras, which will work no matter which lane you enter or exit the motorway in.
