Steve Dunn to speak at
January 2010 meeting
The
Association is pleased to announce that former FIFA and Premier
League Referee Steve Dunn will be the guest speaker at the meeting
on 28 January.
Steve
commenced refereeing in 1978 in Bristol and was promoted through the
system to the Football League Linesman List in 1986. In 1992 he was
promoted to the very first International List of Linesmen and then
became a Football League Referee in same year.
In 1995 he
was promoted to the Premier League List of Referees.
In 1996 Steve
made history by being promoted to FIFA Referee and became first ever
English Referee to be an International Assistant Referee and then
International Referee.
He refereed
over 250 Premier League Referees between 1995 and 2005 and was
unfortunately forced to retired one year early due to injury.
Between 1996
and 2002 he refereed in matches for the FIFA Referee World Cup,
Champions League and UEFA Cup in 23 countries throughout Europe,
officiating in 125 matches abroad in total.
Steve
refereed the 2001 FA Cup Final in Cardiff between Arsenal and
Liverpool, as well as an FA Cup Semi Final two League Cup Semi
Finals and three Play Off Semi Finals.
Steve is now
employed as Training and Development Manager by Premier League and
Football League.
